Name: Kim
Alter Ego: GuardianWolf "Gotham’s Angel"
Height: 5’10”
Eyes: Blue with a swirl of green around the pupil
Hair: Long Curly Golden blond
Age: 17-23 (though in appearance she looks about 16)
Attitude:
Kind and compassionate, cares for everyone, she has an intense sense of loyalty, and carries an air of strength yet innocence about her.
Wardrobe: In public her hair is kept in a pony tail along with dressy casual attire, but when she becomes GuardianWolf she often wears a solid blue coat, a pair of fingerless black leather gloves, cargo pants and her curly hair lose around her shoulders and face. (She utilizes the pants and trench coat to hold various weapons and gadgets. The coat always being open tends to give a slight cape like look.)
History:
Kim’s earliest memory was one of pure chaos. A siren sounding, blood, glass breaking, loud banging noises. She remembers fleeing though a dark tunnel and falling into water. The water was so cold and moved so fast it was everything the little girl could do to keep air in her lungs. Eventually she lost the fight and went under. By some kind of miracle she would awaken in a hospital that received her after finding floating in Gotham Harbor.
The police only grew frustrated to find out that the child seemed to have some kind of memory loss. The doctors explained it was probably due to her injuries and the shock of the cold water. She didn’t fit into any missing children databases so the six year old girl was placed in a temporary home.
Her foster parents were impressed that, despite her youth; she spoke as if she had been well educated and seemed to really like writing and drawing. She would even ask if they could help people she saw on the street or if she could give some of the toys they had to the kids in the hospital.
Her foster mom; Heather said that she was “Destined to help many people. Probably travel to other nations and make a big impact!” her foster dad; Angelo learned that they had not found family for the girl and that they wanted to seek to permanently adopt her.
Once they had full custody of Kim they began to really act like a family. Taking family vacations, trips to museums, amusement parks, you name it they did it. None of which was particularly memorable to anyone but the three of them, that is… except the trip to the “Grand Canyon”. Kim for some reason had no fear of heights whatsoever. She climbed on the railing and was walking on it when her mom saw her. Heather ran
to grab her, but she was too late.
Angelo ran over looking over the edge and called hearing his voice echo back. He spun as he heard his wife sobbing and squeezing their little girl. It made no sense that she hadn’t fallen to her death, but they weren’t going to complain.
As the child slept in the backseat the couple talked about the incident. Heather revealed that she remembered seeing something she couldn’t explain. Angelo looked to her form the corner of his eye and said “Wings?” Heather couldn’t believe he had seen them too, but he hadn’t. He had found feathers there unlike any bird he had ever seen before and even though he had picked it up it seemed to melt in his hand. They never understood what happened, but decided it didn’t matter. They had their baby. It was a miracle in their book.
Kim was growing into a young lady. For a nine year old she was too curious for her own good. She would snoop in her dad’s briefcase and look at his computer. Though Angelo never knew how she always seemed to figure out his passwords. He couldn’t bear to punish her harshly. He may have been a big shot businessman, but it wasn’t like he had anything ‘that’ secret in his documents. That was until one night he got a call from his boss for a special ‘meeting’.
In Gotham it wasn’t uncommon for some under the table deals to pass around even reputable businesses, but Angelo had worked hard to be clean in every respect. Now his boss was not asking but demanding his assistance in something that was openly illegal for a local crime lord. He refused and was fired on the spot. He left certain of what he needed to do. He had to get every piece of information he had and go to the police, but before he could do even that they had perfectly framed him for so many crimes that life in prison looked like a very plausible future.
Despite this he refused to give up. With his wife and daughter behind him he prepared to dispute these allegations, but as things tended turn out in Gotham he never got the chance. Angel heard a knock at the door and upon seeing who was out there knew what was coming. He sent Heather for their daughter. Heather ran to Kim“Wake up… Like we practice ok?” she said with tears on her face.
Kim knew that they had prepared her to grab a backpack full of things and she was to climb out her window with it and go to a friend’s house. Heather kissed her and whispered in her ear“Stay just the way you are…stay pure.” She hugged her and hearing a crash ran out of Kim’s room. Kim was frozen, but upon hearing he mother scream she ran for her door not the window. She saw one of the men above a form on the floor a man say “Get the kid.”
Kim felt as if she was sleep walking; anger and sorrow were all she felt, but somehow she had climbed out her bedroom window; she hurried to the neighbors home several blocks away, but seeing a car in front of their house that looked like the one at her home. She continued to run.
It was days before child services found her. Once again she seemed to have as the police called it ‘convenient memory loss’ after receiving a clean bill of health and evidence showing that it was some tragic robbery and nothing more they place her in a foster home.
Unfortunately for Kim her foster father was an abusive and wicked man, but as its said: “You reap what you sow” so too was it true for him.
Kim woke one night to the smell of smoke coming from under her door. She ran to the door banging on it. Her step dad always kept it bolted from the outside so she couldn’t get out. She quit banging and screamed for help, but her screams were drowned out by the most horrible sound. Her foster father screaming a blood curdling scream; apparently his habit of being a very sloppy drunk who smoked like a freight train was the source of his own demise.
Kim grabbed a chair and shattered the glass window and squeezing herself and her backpack through the bars. Once again was able to escape death via a window. Her last thoughts as she squeezed through were “(Good thing he’s a lousy handyman)”. True she didn’t like the man she still couldn’t help feel sorry for him. Firemen arrived only seconds after she exited the window.
Kim made a decision; from then on she would live off the grid. She refused to let Child Services place her in another place like that. She knew she had to leave her home country. It was the only way she would be sure not to be put back with child services. Getting onboard a plane was easier than it should have been. Mostly due to the fact that she knew a man who was a friend of her father and she convinced him to let her be smuggled on.
Even though she was only ten years old she was brave and while traveling she found ways to pick up cash paying odd jobs and sympathy of kind families/businesses. She relied on libraries and her laptop to further her education. Despite all of her hiding she had managed never to tell a lie. She refused to do so saying, “Deception took my father, and I will not let it take me.”
Through books and the web she spent a great deal of time studying the ways of deduction and various martial arts, favoring ones that require stealth. She traveled the world, until the age of seventeen (though she
is often thought to be much younger). After seven years of traveling; she finally returned to America. She was back home in Gotham at last and though she isn’t sure what lies ahead she will meet it head on.
Though unknown to her, forces that have been awaiting her return now are stirring and about to make their move to reclaim something they consider their property.
Skills/Talents/Abilities:
Highly intelligent with an insatiable thirst for knowledge;
(Believing that knowledge will make all the difference, she is constantly looking for new books to read and new things to learn)
Trained in various hand to hand combat;
(She has had little opportunity to put it to use, and most of what she learned was from books, desperately in need of a good teacher she avoids confrontation whenever possible, but will never abandon one in need)
Wings;
(At first only able to summon by reflex after years of practice she can summon the wings by will, they are amazing things since they once manifested are tangible as bird wings, they can be hurt, bleed, be broke, cut, burned ect…yet after some recovery time even horribly damaged they will heal and be as good as new)
Allure-Empathy;
(Just as she can feel people’s emotions strongly she too naturally projects her emotions to most she interacts with, she has a natural ability to connect to others causing regular people inherently like her and feel like they want to protect her. Sadly this only seems to work on more weak willed people and not on the truly villainous.)
Master Disguise:
(For some reason despite the lack of masks Kim has never been accused of being GuardianWolf. She doesn’t know if it’s because of something about her wings or what, but it’s as if she just comes off as an entirely different person.)
Unknown:
(It’s possible she has unknown abilities, but only time will tell.)
