Name: Kim Code Name: Guardian
Height: 5’10”
Eyes: Blue with a swirl of green around the pupil
Hair: Long Curly Golden blond
Age: 23 (though in appearance she looks about 17)
Attitude:
Determined, always seems like she’s on a mission. Despite that she is very caring and never too busy to lend a hand. She has an intense sense of loyalty, and despite many attempts on her life she still seems to act like a kid in many ways.
Wardrobe:
In public she dressed in dressy casual, but when she becomes Guardian she wears a solid blue outfit, a pair of fingerless black leather gloves and her curly hair lose around her shoulders and face.
In the world, there are two groups of people: Mutants and Humans.
Now according to popular belief you have to belong into one of these two groups.
Mutants: They are known by having both unique genes and unique powers/looks.
Humans: Not possessing powers or altered looks; Normal is the word used to describe them.
But what if I were to tell you that there has been one that did not fit fully to either category? It’s true! A human in every aspect; un-mutated DNA, normal looks… but possesses abilities that seem much like mutant abilities?
Kim’s Diary:
Today is my sixteenth birthday; I they let me have the day off from the lab and instead I snuck into one of the offices and found the files they had on me. According to the files my mom didn’t die in child labor as I had been told and the man who brought me to the lab isn’t really my father either… a lot of the files talk about the many ‘failed experiments’ they did on me. Trying to give me powers of mutants and the powers I already had.
It listed them like this:
Natural Powers:
*Empathy;
(can feel others feelings and inflict her feelings or feelings she has felt before on others good or bad; possibly could be used as an offensive ability?)
*Heart to heart;
(speaks to and understands all animals and humans no matter what their tongue, possibly aliens, though she has never met any)
*Semi-accelerated healing;
(She heals faster than normal humans, but not that fast, an example what would take 6 weeks to heal from would take her 1, but she doesn’t scar)
*Wings;
(Unlike a bird she literally manifest her wings at will, so she doesn’t have to hide them)
*Vision;
(Kim has had both dreams and waking visions of danger, though usually involving herself or someone she knows.)
*Life share;
(She has the ability to take her own life force and give it to others. She has only done this once and it was to bring a puppy that had been killed back to life, but due to the strain of that she became sick. The puppy was well and perfectly healed and she recovered a day or so later.)
Failed Experiments:
Limited invisibility;
(Attempted to reproduce the Weapon X experiment, bonded a strange and alien material to her bones and blood stream that perpetuates through her; the result of this enables her to tap into this and can render herself invisible for brief stints (The invisibility comes from the inside out). Adamantium & Vibranium are mentioned here, but it’s not specific which one was used if even either one was.)
Electricity generated from the hands;
(The subject has problems restraining this power and so special thin rubber gloves have been made for her to help contain the natural static charge her hands put out)
Weak telekinesis and telepathy;
(These are more range based and not very strong. Though with the right amount of training who knows)
Several others, but none successful; the girls DNA seems to resist change. Despite the mutant powers we have placed her DNA has resisted change and has none of the standard markers that indicated a mutant. In fact the DNA still looks perfectly human; we have not seen genetic data like this since the source material the master gave us.”
Looking at the file for the source materials I only saw some strange Egyptian like symbols and someone named "Sinister", but I know this information must be true, I remember nearly losing my leg on that razor wire and talking to animals… the dreams… it’s all true… before I didn’t mind being here. I didn’t mind the experiments even though they hurt, but now… learning all of this. I want out of this place. I want to know who my mom and dad are. These files: seeing what they are trying to do it says they want to;
“Create a solider with the abilities of all the most dangerous mutants’ known and unknown to man".
One of the scientists told me they had a birthday party waiting to celebrate such a special birthday. I followed as always, but this time felt different. I didn’t know why but I felt scared and anxious. I was about to walk into the room when she heard a thought of one of the guard “…Time to learn from mistakes… start from scratch…” only hearing it in bits, but that was enough to induce full on panic. I tried to leave as security arrived to force me in the room. With emotions running high I yanked my gloves off and in one last desperate effort electricity surged from my hands. By some miracle I released an EMP shutting down the facility.
In the chaos I managed to escape. I tried to save some of the other experiments, but sadly was unable to.”
The Prelude:
Kim knew that there was no where she could run or hide from these people they would come after her sooner or later, so she decided instead of running she would stand out. Kim started in a small town first, leading many campaigns against anti-mutant sects. With her strong empathy and natural compassion toward everyone she quickly became an activist for not only mutant rights but the rights of every oppressed group she came across.
For the next seven years Kim has lead many causes; from removing slavery in foreign countries to the right of Mutants to live and exist in peace with humans. She has even been summoned to New York City to speak out against one of the largest anti-mutant organizations around “The Friends of Humanity” and
speak out on behalf of oppressed mutants everywhere. Hardly anyone can believe that a girl so young is thought so highly of both with humans and mutants, but with her total honesty and devotion to doing what is right no matter the cost she has made many friends in powerful places. Though she has never met the X-men, Brotherhood or Professor and the thought of having that honor has made her nervous in no small amount.
The Present:
Kim stood on the platform “Hating Mutants is just another form or racism, just as was done to the Jews, to the Native Americans, the African Americans, the Asians, the Hispanics… and countless other groups… the one thing we seem to do the most is hate… why? What do we gain… its foolish…” Kim froze a moment a few tears fell down her face as she looked up, she seemed to stare at something, then lowered her head she mouthed a few words then looked up “No matter what… the only thing I have ever desired was to help… to stop the stupidity of hating people for no good reason…
Humans are the only ones that kill their own without cause… I know people hate me and they want me dead…. Know this; I forgive them…. And any friends I have out there… don’t give in to the urge to stoop to their level… don’t become like them… don’t seek justice with a sword… or gun…or whatever weapon you may have… I’m not saying to be walked on, but don’t be so willing to throw life away… we take it for granted… life… if only you could see it the way I do… I hope one day all of you will… Thank you for listening…” Kim walked away and looked up again then closed her eyes as a gun shot rang out, Kim’s body hit the ground
A news reporter spoke “That’s was the scene earlier today… the kind girl that stole the hearts of millions was assassinated… we remember her last words and pray that more people like her are found in the world.” This story played over and over, but unknown to everyone, once the bullets were removed from Kim’s body it wasn’t long later that life returned to her. Her heart pounded against her ribcage as she woke up locked in a metallic box, in pure panic she kicked and struggled to get out, she finally managed to kick the drawer open and climbed out. For some reason no one was in the morgue. Clutching the thin paper that covered her; she stumbled around hardly able to stand; she searched and saw her clothing bagged and tagged with an evidence marker. It was tough but she managed to dress.
Kim felt drained, her body had the ability to heal itself, but she was spent well beyond anything she had ever felt before. She collapsed on one of the metal table her words were slightly slurred "I thought he’d..." she noticed a clipboard not far off. With great effort she reached it; it spoke of the trajectory of the bullet wound, that it entered the frontal lobe and several other technical terms she wasn’t familiar with or able to comprehend right now.
Her mind replayed what had happened in her head, just before the shot she had seen it all and what would have happened had she not allowed herself to be shot. More people would have been killed she sighed and groaned as she tried to rise up, "Even if it is pointless... if I stop one person... just one.. From suffering... form living a life of despair... then it's worth it..." her mind seemed a jumble and she was having a hard time controlling her words. It was as if random thoughts just poured out.
Sweat beaded on her brow and before she could call for help she heard a low rumble and it seemed like the earth had shook slightly. Though with the way she was feeling she wasn’t sure, but one thing she did know someone had arrived and she sensed whoever it was getting closer to the morgue. She was in no condition for a fight; she prayed whoever it was wasn’t an enemy.
