                                                                          The Journey:

The scenery passed by quickly. Looking out the back of the police vehicle Kim wondered where they were headed. Having witnessed a murder she now had to be hid until the trial. It wasn’t like the man who killed that girl was a big shot criminal, but he still had friends… and in cases like this it was better safe than sorry. Looking out the window she noticed the fog that seemed to hang around the mountains, she started to think of what led her to this moment.

                                                                       The Encounter:

After graduating from the academy Kim was so excited; she had already gone on patrol for training so she had really been a police officer before, but now it was official. At last it was her first day as a real officer.
Just a short drive; then she would change into uniform and start her shift. She was so excited she almost didn’t see the man with a gun run into an alley after someone. In that instant instinct took over. She grabbed her gun and cuffs. Following the shadows she turned the alley just in time to see it; the man murdered a girl in cold blood. “Freeze Police!” she shouted. The man turned to fire, he was met with a bullet to his shoulder. Hurrying over she kicked the gun away and read him his rights as she cuffed him.

The man shouted in pain as she called for backup on her cell “Officer in need of assistance!” in almost no time at all a black and white pulled up; followed by a paramedic. She began to tell the officer what happened. As they brought the culprit by on a gurney he swore she’d pay for what she did. From there on it was procedure. Her gun was taken. She had to speak with IA, give statements, and once it was agreed she did in fact do the right thing. It was decided she would be put into Witness Protection. It seems though the guy was really small time he had friends in big places. She was sent off with two officers toward a location unknown to her, but she knew this. It was going to be a while before she could put that uniform on.

                                                                             The Arrival:

Kim sighed staring out the window; it seemed like every time she was getting close to a goal. Life through her a curve ball and even in the middle of her curve ball there came yet another insane curve. She wasn’t sure
what made the officer swerve like he did, but the last things she remembered was colliding with the roof of the car.

When she awoke the car was upside down and one side had been peeled away from colliding into a rock face. Providing her with an escape; though a tight one, she managed to squeeze out. She limped and stumbled as she wiped some blood from her brow “Officer Reed! Officer Malloy!” she called, but didn’t see the officers anywhere. The air felt stuffy, yet cool. She shuddered involuntarily, but smiled as she saw one good thing. The officers shot gun was there. Pulling it out she sighed “No extra shells…” what’s more she only had two
shots… she looked around and called out again “Hello!?” she didn’t even hear her voice answer back, but through the thick air she swore she saw a sign and moved her way toward it her limp lessoning, but only slightly.

She furrowed her brow as the air seemed to grow a bit thicker making her cough slightly “Welcome to… Silent Hill” she read the sign aloud. She wondered why the officers would have left her or if a rescue came why they didn’t take her too, but there was one thing she knew for sure. The only place she had to go now was this ‘Silent Hill’
